A) The sport is called after a Halloween word. It is performed by one person. Lying face-down on a small sled, which is called the same as the sport, the athlete slides down an ice-covered track, shifting weight with his or her shoulders, head and legs.

B) This sport is performed outdoors. Athletes ski across a course consisting of uphill, downhill and flat terrain. It is a race throughout the countryside. Participants wear thin sticks and use poles to push themselves. The fastest athlete wins. This is an exhausting sport.

C) Some say this is the silliest sport on earth. Athletes use brooms and what looks like small UFO spaceships. Two teams take turns throwing 20-kilogram stones across a sheet of ice, aiming for a target marked on the ice, known as the House. The team that gets its stone closer to the House scores. The sport was probably invented in Scotland. Both men and women play it.

D) This combines cross-country skiing with shooting. You have to be fast as you travel across the snow and you have to be a marksman and shoot at targets along the way. Athletes with rifles slung on their backs, ski across the course to reach the shooting range, where they shoot the targets. A great sport for hunters and outdoors people.

E) For this, skaters race against each other on a 400-meter-long track at an indoor ice rink. The fastest person wins. The athletes do this in lanes and they are bent over almost double when they race. They wear special skates that have enormous blades.

F) This is a discipline where athletes glide down the slope on a board. Judging criteria include speed or artistic elements.

G) This is a very exciting sport, but also a very dangerous one. An athlete, face-up and feet-first on a sled, slides down banked curves covered with ice at top speed. Craziest of all, they are lying on their backs, wearing helmets and special gloves.
